About Me

I was born two days before Christmas, that way Santa wouldn’t forget me. My Mommy’s show name is Elegance in White, but we call her Ellie. My Daddy’s show name is Gold Digger and we call him Digby. Both of my parents were Show Dogs and won awards for being so beautiful. I get my small size from my Mommy Ellie. She weighed only 8 lbs, which is small for a Pekingese. My Dad Digby weighed 11 pounds, which is the right size for our breed. My sister’s name was Sheer Elegance but we called her Sherry. I was the sleeve Pekingese so everybody tells me I am special and I am  not considered a runt because of my breed. My show name was Pearl Essence. I was bred by Joy Thoms, who is passionate about white Pekingese. She is such a great lady!

When I was 6 months old I entered show business. I won Best of Breed and finished all my points to earn my major. I personally loved all the ribbons I won. It was hard work getting brushed but I did enjoy the pampering plus I enjoyed visiting so many places and riding in airplanes, cars and RV’s. I think all dogs are beautiful but in the dog show business we are judged by things like your head size and your bone structure. It’s like a beauty pageant, one right after another! See me below...

When my show business career ended, I decided to have babies so that my gorgeous beauty would be passed on to future generations. Even though I am small, I had three puppies, two boys and one girl. We named the boy after a famous baseball player Whitey Ford and Diablo was my other son. My daughter was named Lilly. Whitey Ford was acquired by his fur ever Mommy Vicki and Daddy Jim Gattuso, originally of Akron Ohio and they renamed him Shoko because of his gorgeous thick show coat. None of my babies were interested in show biz, so they all live now in their fur ever homes. I have been told that I was an excellent Mommy! That warms my heart so much. Every Mommy gives the gift of life and we can never repay that gift.

When I was 5 years old I went to live with Mommy Vicki because my son Shoko really missed me. The hard part was flying by myself on a big airplane all the way across the USA. the stewardess at Delta took really good care of me and calmed my fears. I was the first on the plane and the last one off.

My Mommy Vicki often tells me she loved me before she even knew me..I don’t get it. At first I was a little homesick, but soon after, I loved being reunited with my little boy. The problem with Shoko, is he thinks I am his age and he likes to wrestle. I’ll do it for a little while, and then I am done. So sometimes I have to be the boss and remind him I am still his birth Mommy.

My son is also fascinated by bugs (he is all boy) and I can’t get him to quit trying to catch them. He will even eat bees!

I love my life..it’s heaven to live by the sea. I get to stroll by the ocean and feel the cool breezes and sand between my toes. I love when the breeze blows my hair all over. Most people think my long hair makes me really hot, but my long hair protects me from the sun. I love my long hair and I have never ever had my ear hair cut so it’s very long. The show people call it fringe. Oh well, that’s show biz talk.

Most of my life revolves around my family. They love me so much and treat me so good. I am very lucky. When I need medicine I visit Dr. Ruth Roberts, she is a good doggie doctor. I even wagged my tail after my operation and Dr. Ruth admired me for that because most dogs get mad afterwards. I guess I am really sweet.

My Groomer Nancy treats me wonderful too, she is an artist and she fixes my hair really pretty. She thinks I am gorgeous. She used to enter her dogs into show biz too but now she just makes dogs look gorgeous. Nancy tells me I am so good because I lie on my back and let her style my hair. I was trained to do that when I was a little girl by my handler, Miss Ruth. Yes, pure class, huh?

Sometimes we travel to Ohio to visit my Mommy & Daddy’s family and I enjoy that. I just nap non stop though during the trip, it does get a little boring. And of course my son hogs the best seat in Daddy’s SUV. The best part is Mommy & Daddy stop and eat really good food and they’ll give us a taste or two. Oh, I love people food so much. I day dream about it.

So now you know all about me and my life. The best part is looking forward to my next treat or my next buggy ride. My buggy is Pink because I love the color pink. I have had my share of heartbreak but I focus on living life. I am going to go pester my Mommy to let me nap in my stroller. Sometimes she gets so busy, I have to remind her.
